Planning to build a gaming PC

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
Gaming/General

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
I pretty much want to get a "bang for your buck" PC, but anything around $1,000 would be neat.

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
US of A

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture.
None whatsoever.

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
I'll just post what my current set-up is and move on from there I guess.

Then it's pointless to discuss the best parts now. In 3 months, intel may have dropped the price of the E8500 down to the E8400 level for example. Nividia may be selling the GTX 280 at $400, etc.

This thread will make more sense when you're 1-3 days from buying.
