My friends and I are planning on spending about 2 months traveling across Europe this summer. Everyone supposedly has enough money saved up, but we are just now seriously starting to plan it. Our plan thus far is to buy some camping supplies over there and a Eurail pass, and then just take the trains throughout the countries and camp at the different places we go. Has anyone ever done anything like this and have any tips, or know of any good links?

Yeah, I spent 3 weeks in Europe this last October. Europe kicks ass. Anyways, check out this link Eurotrip. The forums over there are really good. Make sure for every city you go to, you have a hostel/hotel booked for the first day. Drink bottled water. Try to learn how to say a couple words in each local language (like Hi, Thank You, Where's the Weed Menu, etc). Anyways, if you want some more tips, you can AIM me.

And definitely check out the forums at eurotrip.

Spending six weeks backpacking through Europe a few years ago was the singular best experience of my life. It wasn't easy but it was a hell of a lot of fun and enlightenment.

Be sure to see at least one city in Eastern Europe--I went to Budapest but Prague is also a good choice. Those are pretty much the only large cities that weren't bombed to sh!t in WW2.
