seems like after reading the a64 mobo thread - it seemed to jump from chaintech to k8n and then k8n being a bad board at the moment - I am thinking of getting a mobile athlon 64 chip (35w) and plucking it in this board - it seems like this works out of the box?

i don't want to get another board because i don't have another chip to update bios - i was wondering if this board will be fine for what i will be doing? i don't think i will oc much - i am using this chip more because it is low wattage for low heat than anything else - thx - comments please :)

The mobile Athlons are Socket A, not Socket 754. To use the mobile Athlon XPs you'll want a board based on the Nvidia nForce2 chipset. The Abit NF7-S and DFI NFII Ultra Infinity are recommended quite often. To use the K8N or any other Socket 754 board, you'll need a 754 pin Athlon64 processor.
