Planning a trip to Cedar Point

I'm planning a trip to Cedar Point for sometime in June and was wondering if anyone here had recommendations for places to eat or visit other than the theme park which I will of course be at most of the time there. Of course I already looked at their website but I want some more opinions.

if you meet a guy named josiah who works there. punch him in the face.

my g/f used to work there. i will ask her some info and get it to you later.

as much as i love that part of Ohio, there is not much to do besides the park and the waterpark.
i would take a gander on trip advisor.com (look on the forums in ohio for some good info) 🙂
I miss cedar point 🙁
Have a great time!

man, i haven't been to cedar point in so long. i love roller coasters. i can't stand the carnival "spinning" rides, those make me ill. but, cedar point rocks.

yeah I quit those spinning rides for that same reason. It gets old really fast.

The Wolf Creek Lodge is near there, and it has the largest indoor waterpark in the country. Cool place 🙂

I'm taking the family up there myself when we go on vacation from June 9 through the 18th. We are taking an RV and will used one of Cedar Points RV spots for $50 a night.

Go to cedarpoint.com, they have links and pages with attractions nearby. Plus TripAdvisor.com can help.

I'm renting one from my chiropractor. He's going to save me $1k over the local RV rental place. Will need it with gas prices scooting back up.

I live about a half-hour away from Cedar Point.

If you're looking for something else to do while your in the area, you have a few options:

Take the Millersburg Ferry or the Jet Express to Put-in-Bay, a small island a few miles off the coast of Lake Erie. There's quite a bit to see and do there. I recommend renting a golf cart and just driving around the island. At night the island gets very party-like-- I'm not sure if that's your thing or not.

If you're looking for someplace a little more laid back, try heading up to Kelly's Island nearby. You can rent a bike and ride around the whole island looking at the scenery, stop for ice cream, and then take a dip at the public beach.

Obviously a little further away is Cleveland-- you can head downtown and visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, visit Severance Hall and listen to one of the world's best philharmonic orchestras, or spend a few hours at the Museum of Art (which is absolutely free), the Natural History Museum, Crawford Auto Museum, etc. etc.

You probably already know this, but the football hall of fame is in Canton, about an hour south of Cleveland, and an hour and a half away from Cedar Point-- but if you are a football fan it is a must-visit.

I totally forgot about the Football HOF being that close. That's definitely added to the list. Thanks.

Just wanted to say that I went to Cedar Point last year. DAMN was it a good time. The Top Thrill Dragster was incredible, but overall the Millenium Force was my favorite coaster. What an incredibly fast and smooth ride.

Loved it.
