So I'm thinking of heading down to Charlotte, Asheville, and Auburn for Thanksgiving weekend. Figured I'd fly into Charlotte, hangout there for a night, then head to Asheville, hang out there for a Friday night, and then hit up the Auburn <-> Alabama game in Auburn on Saturday.

I've never been to any of these places. I'm thinking Charlotte and Auburn are probably "one night" stops, but should I try to spend more than one night in Asheville? Or is one Friday night enough to get a sense of the area? Could always head back through there after Auburn.

Any advice is appreciated!

biltmore in asheville is awesome. at least it was this spring

OP, i suggest Charlotte, then Asheville (tour the Biltmore), then drive the Blue Ridge Parkway. :awe:

...or instead of Blue Ridge Parkway, sightsee in Charleston, South Carolina (<----- I've never been but will one day)

Depends what you are looking for...

Charlotte has the NASCAR hall of fame...If you are into that. Also has some great Craft Brew places... Check out Old Mecklenburg Brewery and the NODA brewery for fine examples and beer... Otherwise, not much to see in Charlotte.

However... There are some great roads leading out to Asheville. Take any road that leads you out through Chimney rock on the way to Asheville. Biltmore is highly recommended. Lots to do and see there... Lots of craft beer as well.
