My girlfriends mom asked me to do some research b/c her mom just found out she has cancer and its really bad, and this will be her first death while she has been living in florida, but her mom wants to be buried in California. The reason she asks me to do find out is because she gets too emotional doing this stuff. Anyways i did some research on google, but couldnt find much about transporting a body from FL to another state or any other useful information. any information would be helpful thanks guys

I would suggest contacting a reputable funeral home. They should be able to point you in the right direction.

Probably the thing to do is to contact a funeral home, locally. they should be able to point you in the right direction?

Contact a local funeral home in Fla.

One near your place may be able to provide recommendations.

I would also suggest that which ever you contact, determine what type of pre-paid plans that they have available.

Lock it something ASAP. After the fact, the emotion kicks in over logic.
Also, determine burial vs cremation.
Take the wishes of the mom as well as the rest of the family. Discuss the situation now.

Make sure that all legal issues are also covered. You have no legal standing in the situation so tread gently.
