If you are buying a tent, spring an extra few bucks for a tarp to toss under the tent or any sort of foot print. $5-$8 Walmart tarp is fine.
Foot print should be smaller than the actual tent. You don't want it poking out.


For light, excluding your typical fueled\dual fuel colemans (which can be awesome)

Thing is awesome if you want electric and just handy to have around.
Flashlights...be warned. That can turn into an expensive hobby.
