What we need to do is draft some of the black-socks-n-sandals crowd from down Florida way to scope out the Iraqi desert with the metal detectors. Those old timers would find the WMDs in a jiffy. 😀
 
Mig-25s did somewhere between Mach 2.5 and Mach 3. That's a pretty good reason.

yeah, mig-25 is one of the fastest fighters in the world I think. India is using them, and the pakistanis can't catch them
 
the MiG-25 Foxbat was designed as an interceptor to take down the SR-71. They have been tracked on radar going Mach 3.1 but the plane can only cruise at Mach 3+ for no longer than 2 to 3 minutes before the engines burn out. They have limited range and one of the worst turning radius' around. They are largely ineffective fighters.
