Planar flat screen question

I bought the Planar 17.4 when it was for $600 something about a month ago through Dell. Sometimes when the screen has big blocks of white (think blank word document) or grey, it has lines running across the screen. Does anyone else have this? Anyone know what it is? I've never seen it on my notebooks' screens, but I don't know whether it is just because the Planar's screen is so big.

It is normal to have those line, because you're using analog connection to your LCD. You can adjust the phase if it's vertical line and clock if it's horizontal.

Your laptop does not have this problem because it uses a digital connection.

I assume you are using analog vga card for your LCD, if you use DVI than something is wrong 🙁

Yeah, I am using analog. Thanks for explaining it. It's not much of a bother since it only happens on primarily one color screens, I wondered why that is. So with the DVI input, it shouldn't happen at all. Now, I've just got to keep my eyes open for a DVI card deal ;-)
