I just recieved the monitor from dell, and have had some problems with it. In windows, the letter "w" creates weird little light blue spots between the 3 lines.
Also, playing divx files gives me these odd lines across the screen when I fullscreen.

Also, it Cs, there is massive ghosting across the screen.

Can anyone help me? Im using an Elsa Geforce 1 via DVI output.

Thanks,

-Steve

I believe it might be the elsa's DVI output giving me troubles, But im not sure.
Are these problems symptomatic of a defective monitor or a defective Vid card?

I sold My hercules gf2 ultra in anticipation of Dell shipping me my radeon 8500, but no such luck so far :(

Dude, I think it's the GeForce 256's implemenation of DVI that's at fault. I think that the GeForce 256 cards had to use an external chip to do DVI and I hear that they all pretty much sucked a$$. Also remember that this was NVIDIA's/Elsa's first attempt with DVI so it wasn't going to be perfect.

But I'm using the Planar 18.1" on a GeForce3 Ti 200 with DVI and I also used it on an AIW Radeon with no problems/ghosting/corrupt images, etc.

Nope, no ghosting. And I play Return to Castle Wolfestein ALOT. I run at 1280x1024 MAXED OUT. The default refresh for my monitor (and most LCD's is 60Hz), but that isn't really comparable to CRT's.

Sounds like a DVI problem. They seem to be extremely sensitive. When I got my 18.1" planar, one of the small pins in the DVI connector was bent just the slightest bit and I had all sorts of problem. I bent it back and now it's totally awesome.

For you, you might be suffereing from some sort of Geforce 1 DVI problem. I suggest you contact Planar, who is supposed to have great tech support. I'm sure that you're not the only one with this problem, and they would have a better idea of how to help you than most others.

Yeah, I noticed that If there are two black lines with a white line between them a green/teal pixel will appear between them. My pins seem fine, so It must be the Vid card.

Thanks for all the help :)
