Plan on buying XP?

because of the new look! 🙂

why not use a copy? well, that would be illegal 😀

[edit] and to justify my next cpu upgrade!!! Windows XP gives me a reason to buy me a GHz cpu[/edit]

I think so...probably see how the product activation works out for everyone first, but I like it so far, and don't see a reason not to at least try it.

No, not at this time.
Not that I don't like Windows XP, but other than the new GUI look XP doesn't offer me anything more than 2000 does now. I have run the RC's of XP and plan to go back to Windows 2000. If it wasn't for the games, Linux would be my next main OS.

I probably would have eventually but why bother when they'll give me one for free. 😛

I remember the last time when we had similar pole when Win2K came out. I wonder what ever happened to all the naysayers now? 🙂

The only thing XP Pro gives me that I am interested in is the driver rollback and I will not pay 200$ for that feature. I will stick it out with Win2K untill I see the need to upgrade a MS OS again.

Last good known configuration should be enough... that's already part of NT/2K.

You could save the money and buy a faster CPU.

Why would I need a faster CPU if I'm not going to use windows XP ??? 😕

For most applications today my celeron 466 will do just fine. 🙂

But once I get Windows XP, then it will be time for me to get me an Athlon 1.4 GHz 😀

Your logic escapes me.

Simple. It's like this:

I have a Geo, and my workplace is about 10 miles away, but a nice drive. It gets the job done. However, I'd love to have that nearly-identical paying job 50 miles away so I could finally get my dream sports car, and spend more quality time in it each, and every day along those 50 miles back, and forth... 😕

😉 😀

No. But I will gladly accept the free copy of XP Pro and all of the other goodies that I will recieve Sept. 25th at the MS Seminar for business partners. 😀
