Hey guys i'm planning on making a nice build come new years time. When i get some cash most likely it will be about a $500-600 range. I'm not going to do anything serious with it. Maybe lite video editing, dvd burning, softcore gaming. I play CS and similar things to that nothing more. My main comp is a 1.6ghz p4, 738mb, 80gb, 60gb, NEC-2500a, lite-on 52x burner, geforce4 mx 440 64mb.

Now when i look at all the stuff thats out there i'm not sure what is the way to go. i still like the idea of the abit n7s board with a 2500xp-m. but that can be getting outdated. AMD64 seems pricey for me. I'm not a big overclocker. Tho i really like to try something small maybe jumping 600mhz or so up.

Come new years 05 what specs should i be looking at for a $500-600 build?

Yea 600mhz isnt that big of a jump at all.😉

true but i wanted to do a little research on CPU Cores and junk like that. So when it comes time i can be slightly smarter then the average person.
