Plan on ATX or wait?

I just bought a badass case for this new PC I'm building over the next 6-9 months....I was going to buy the MOBO, video card and RAM around this coming April. I figured if I bought the case, I would have a good incentive to really start building my dream gaming rig.

My concern is that the case I just picked up is, of course, one that fits ATX MOBOS (the coolermaster case). It will not hold the new BTX MOBO crap that I've been reading about today.

I am I going to be kicking myself in a few months for dropping $150 on a case style that is "obsolete?" Will I even want an ATX MOBO by Spring 2005?

In the end, come next Spring, I want to have a badass pure gaming AMD machine with an ATI PCI-Express video card that will pound the literal s#$% out of a game like Half-Life 2. I mean, I want FPS with details on ultra.

I guess my question is, do I return the case I just bought to NewEgg, or do I keep it and plan on having my next Rig (that's supposed to last me for a few years) be based on ATX technology?

OR, is BTX likely to be resisted by gamers who like the ATX form?

My biggest fear is that I f@$k up again like I did when I ordered a Willamette 423 pin P4 with RDRAM from Dell. Can you say "obsolete."?

Please help me....what would you do if you were trying to piece together a gaming rig over the next 9 months and had @ 3,000 to drop?

Thanks!

I agree. I've heard that BTX is Intel's solution to their Prescott's heating problems. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong..
