There's only so many ways you can write instructions on how to do something with so few steps.

Oh wow, I gave it a good read and apparently it seems to be correct. I wonder how soon will this be locked by a mod? If this is indeed true then I think Anandtech got to give credit when its due.

I don't know the other site that well so I cannot speak for them and their credit. But indeed plagiarism is a serious offense and if Anandtech were indeed involved in this then I am shocked as well at a site so popular such as this one to be commited in such act.

I don't see any plagiarism. They both explain how to do the same thing using the same software.

Does CBS News plagiarise NBC News if they both do a story on the same subject? No.

Two writers reported on the same facts. That doesn't make it plagiarism. Just because one site posts something first, you can't claim that any other site that posts the same information is guilty of plagiarism.

If the AT writer got that info from the ngohq site, it should have been credited. If there were blocks of text directly copied, I didn't notice them.

You think they would really lock this thread? Wouldn't that be suggestive of a cover up? :p

Sorry for the repost I searched before I posted & didnt find anything.

Are you retarded?
I doubt they performed any acts of direct copying but I still doubt they want people debating it, I don't expect the thread to last long.

They wouldn't lock it, they'd delete it. :p

I doubt they actually plagiarized directly and intentionally. The AT article said that some "clever users" figured it out... those clever users probably figured it out by reading that article and reported it to AT with no credit given.

The guy's a douche bag. He's obviously trying to blow the whole thing out of proportion, if there's even a thing in the 1st place, to draw traffic to his website.

QFT

The first sentence of that article shows what an attention whore the author really is.
