places to take pictures in the LA area?

Do you guys have any suggestions of places to take pictures of in the LA and surrounding areas? It could be a fair (hour or so) drive away. I'm open to any kind of picture taking. Landscapes, animals, architecture, anything.

im positive theres a large botanicial garden in LA someplace, also a Zoo

I would say anywhere along the Coast or Route 101, the port, zoo, and airport could be more interesting places

(never have been there, but want to go!)

The Arboretum is pretty nice. I think it is the biggest of such places in the LA area but I could be wrong about that. Also, the Zoo as Anubis mentioned.

If you enjoy cars you might like the Peterson Automotive Museum. Although the lighting isn't the best so you will probably need a flash and/or a fast lens.

You can visit Hollywood or Griffith Park or LA Zoo...or at Universal City that is all I can think of...also Long Beach is a very nice city.

I'm down here in LA too looking for places to go take pics of. I'm pretty sure the zoos will be nice and probably some of the little beaches like laguna beach. Maybe we can get together sometime and shoot together.
