where can i get an useful laptop? just good enough, not a souped up one.
i noticed people are selling 700mhz, 1.2Ghz which is insane!!!!
----> all i need is word typing on the run, not autocad n CAD on the run.
would anyone know where i can get a new laptop with the old specs like:
200mhz
128RAM
12.1" active
6gb hard drive.

thanx

post this in the FS/FT fourm

and post:

WTB=want to buy

WTB: old laptop

then put the specs in the thread

You'd probby be getting a much better bang for your buck if you shell out the $600-800 to get a half-decent laptop.. . Often, 200mhz machines are selling for $500-600 and it's really not worth it.

sheesh.
so whatever happened to those old 200mhz, 400mhz.
have they been shipped to third world countries already? i was hoping theres a computer warehouse still havin these old machines still great for word processing n all

my budget is 2500 dollars.
but buying a souped up laptop is wasteful money. its like eating half a hoagie and then throw the rest away.
im just lookin for something simple for typing. thanx for checking this post out. i think its for other's benefit as well if someone here knows of outlet stores.

LOL I was worried you'd say $400, are you sure your budget is $2,500 (two thousand five hundred dollars)? Like TripleJ said, the question is what can't you get. You have so many options. I know of a few discounts on Dell, IBM, Sony and Toshiba laptops but I can't get to that info until later tonight but I'll e-mail it to you.

You can expect to pay $1,500 for a reasonably quick laptop with at least:
Intel Pentium III 700MHz or faster
64MB or more RAM
10GB or larger hard drive
24x CD-ROM or 8x DVD
12.1 or 14.1" TFT Display with max resolution of 1024x768
Windows 98: SE, ME or 2000 Pro

If you get a Sony, Toshiba or Fujitsu you'll get some more nifty extras.

Send me an e-mail to ross_the_enigma@hotmail.com and I'll send you the information tonight.

If you're quick you can order an IBM ThinkPad T series for $1299, but there's only 3 left.

Intel Mobile Pentium III / 800MHz
