Trying to get an old 175HP carburated Mercury to run more smoothly. Wondering where I can find some spark plug wires for the unit to buy online as no one seems to carry them around here from "Pull and save" places. I see lots of places online but they all look kind of "cheap". Which I'm sure isn't a bad thing I just dont want to get rotten luck that involves chargebacks etc.

So is there any reputable place online that sells marine parts? Specifically for older engines?

Try here:

or maybe: http://www.eastcoastmarineserv.../marine_accesories.htm

or here: http://www.usboatsupply.com/outboardparts.php

And if the trouble is just bad plug wires, you should be able to make them
up yourself with a good crimp tool and the correct plug boots. Use a nice
8mm wire. Put the boot on the wire first and the Strip it back about 1/2 inch
and fold the center conductor back on the jacket. Then slide it into the plug
terminal and crimp. Most good automotive style crimp tools will have a die
for doing spark plug wires.
