googled but can't find one that buys 1 or 2 used phones. most seem to be looking for bulk deals. i remember someone from AT telling me about a place that will give a flat amt. for a used phone.. $10 or something like that.

thanks

Old cell phones are supposed to be able to call 911 without issues. My grandparents are carrying one in their car for that reason... no service but they've heard it can still dial 911.

Today I took an old Samsung A460 to the sprint store and got $25 in service credit for it. Considering it's three years old I think I made out ok for that deal.

If it isn't actively receiving a signal, how does it actually dial 911 when it comes time ? I'd like to see a confirmation on that.

it recieves a signal, it just doesn't do anything with the cell phone company's signal.
