Yup... it will be the first Aopen I have owned. I hope I have Aopened a can of worms... Sorry, just could not resist!

Decided to take an extra step, huh? (you KNOW you're going to settle on either P4C800 or IC7-G... :D;))

Good Luck with the Aopen... :) The results should be interesting. I am eagerly awaiting the IC7-G myself. ;)

Maybe I'm reaching but I think the clock generator is between the AGP slot and MCH chip. I can barely make out the letters ICS on that chip and that's the place I have usually found the clock generator so I'm not sure what that funky heatsink is supposed to cool.

I'm looking forward to your results.

PJ:

Way to go. I have a AX4R+ and I am very happy with its performance. Cannot justify an upgrade to 875P just yet. But IC7-G may help change my mind.

Interesting to see what kind of OC you can get out of the Aopen. Good Luck

yikes that's an expensive mobo. however, if some good games come out on the Unreal2 engine i might have to get something like that. that engine is a hog and a half.

aopen is always the first to bring their motherboard to the market, they did the same w/ granite bay. BTW, does anyone else here predict GB becoming cheap? I think that could happen.

I think PJ, Thugs, Technonut has a special account with Newegg where they just send the boards to them as soon as get them in. :D

yeah the clock gen is by the pci slot

if you use the cool zoom thing on the link techno nut gave us, you can see a mosfet standing upright, screwed into the heatsink (you can see the screw head)

I know it's a long shot, but it's definitely not the clock gen
