Hehe.. Thanks Thugs... Looks like Outpost has got the goods right now. I am at 182fsb and had to up it to 1.55 vcore. Booted into windows and then froze at 182 and default. Still a nice chip... My sl6rz will be for sale real quick if this thing will do at least a few more fsb... and I know it will! I am not even greedy, I will take what I paid for it... hehe.

What's the batch number? Mine boots at default voltage above 180, but only does P95 at 177 fsb @ default voltage. Keep us posted, as I know you will..

Thats the same as mine. Will boot at 182 fsb default voltage. Won't do anything after that even with more volts. I'm going to run P95 @ 177 FSB, 443 DDR overnight tonight. She's already done P95 for 11 hours @ 176 FSB.

Very nice PJ, like Valvoline's, my SL6S2 boots at default voltage out to 185 on my P4PE but I have a stick Corsair PC3000 that works at its rated timings and no more; to go higher I have to loosen the timings. Ended up being Folding@Home stable at 178. When I get bored, will try the PC3200 stick I have in my 8INXP.

I read about your experiences with the 8INXP but was blinded by DPS LED....why did I stray from Asus?

Hehe... the 8INXP was actually a faster board at the same speeds as my Asus, but, it could not get as high a fsb. I myself will be getting the Abit Canterwood here in a few weeks and I cannot wait! It looks to be a winner in my book!

Hehe... by the way... I may have pushed her a little far... I hosed my windows install this morning
Have not done that in awhile. May have been because of my SATA raid setup (I am using convertors) but don't know yet... My Ghost drive did not work this morning either, so I had to do a full fresh install of XP... oh well... that's half the fun isn't it?

Another nice OC PJ. :) I installed a HighPoint Rocket RAID 1520 in my BH7 with converters. I FUBAR'ed a drive once myself. I found that the BH7 was to blame. Even though I had the PCI locked @ 33 and confirmed it with my PCGeiger, the drive performance was piss poor. I had to set it to Ext. Clock/5 to solve the issue. I have had no problems since.

This is the first issue I have had with th drives. I am running a raid 0 setup with the convertors. I have my pci/agp locked at 2 settings above 33/66, whatever it is, I can't remember right now. I will just try her again and see if it continues. May have just been a fluke. I definately need to get my ghost drive working properly before I start fiddling again though... makes it a whole lot easier when you do mess things up!

I did that last night too with my AthlonXP Tbred rig. But I was able to get into Windows long enough to do a restore and it worked! :) I was so happy. My system just won't do 200MHz FSB, no matter what I drop the multiplier to or raise Vcore to. :(

I fully expect that Abit to be a winner as well. A real overclocking board. I hope I can exercise a little discipline this time and wait to see how you do with the board before i jump in again and do an upgrade.

I can deal with the temps better than the voltage issues (whether they really exist or not).

i hafta agree with you here (whether they really exist or not)

:)

Ya gotta admit, they are a pain... overvolting and vcore flux... I am not saying I will never get Asus again, I just wish they would fix these things. Abit sold me on their stuff with the IT7 m2v2.

I am speaking more precisely to the cries I hear from Abit BH7 mobo owners......

Well you get the abit and let us know hoe it does and we will all jump aboard...Abits have been a bit on the spendy side (BH7 not included) recently so I can only imagine the cost of that board....
