My wife is part of the Work At Home Moms network and she picked up a new ?job? a few months ago. It is taking phone orders for a large national Pizza chain. It is actually pretty cool, the call comes in, caller ID identifies phone number, person and location, she verifies the name and delivery address, offers specials then inputs the info on her computer which gets routed to the Pizza place nearest to the customer. Yes she HAS to ask if you would like breadsticks or hot wings with that. The system totals the order with tax and delivery charge and they can even pay by credit card while on the phone. It is amazing how much information is in the system.

Here is an example of how it works.

They only pay for "Talk Time" when you are actually on the phone at $0.17 per minute. If you are on the phone 45 minutes out of the hour then that would make just over $7.50/hour. Not great, but not bad considering she is in her nightgown playing Tetris anyways.

Edit: Just one to five hours a week, nights and weekends. She answers the phone for my home business during weekdays, but I have not set her up as an employee. This way she can make some "mad money" for guilt free online shopping.

1 to 5 hours a week @ a max of $7.50/hour? Isn't that more trouble than it's worth?

Also, where in Oklahoma are you?

<-- from Tulsa.

He didn't say max of 7.50, he just did the math to an easy reference point.

Well let's be serious, you're not going to get 60 straight minutes of calls, so ~$7.50 is accurate enough.

The MAX is $10.00 per hour if you are always on the phone, but you gotta pee sometime. They were paying $0.25 per minute during "peak" hours where she was getting $11.50 per hour, but the company stopped that a few weeks ago.

I usually take the kids to the park after my work, so she does this to net an extra $100 per month while dinner is cooking.

We are here in Oregon, but if any callers ask she is suppost to say it is a call center in Omaha, Nebraska. My bad I thought she told me Oklahoma before.

HomeAppraisers wife says: "So it's turning him on to think about someone peeing while he's talking to them? I can't pee and take an order, I have to be at the computer."

Saw the same thing when I worked for a telemarketing company. They had centers in North and South Dakota, Nebraska, and the main one in Texas. No matter where they were, the callers were supposed to claim to be in Texas.

(I didn't do the phones, I ran the servers that loaded the calling lists)

Per second only. She says that she averaged $8.00 per hour last month, after they cut the pay. You have to download their software that checks for spyware and Kazza. We have a fast DSL connection for my home business so that is already taken care of.

They only pay you based on talk time? If that's the case, what about the time you waste waiting for it to ring?

Sorry missed your question. She found it on the Work At Home Moms site WAHM

One of the moms posted the example in their fourms!

Tetris.

Yes that is the downside, but the upside is no commuting or wardrobe expense. Also no supervisors looking over your shoulder all the time. She had one early shift that was only five minutes of talk time so that was a waste. She has learned to only pick busy dinner hour shifts and stays at 75% to 85% talk time.

Since she is entering customers credit card numbers they don't want ANY Peer to Peer software on her computer. Their rules, go figure.

No, he was the owner.

I'm still an upper level demon/devil, though.
