Pixelization occuring when the Video card gets to 70c

thanks, God knows I wouldn't be able to find another one of these if it burns out.

I was running BFV at 1024x768 6xAA 16xAF

I wonder what the highest temp would be before it shuts down

When it gets to above 70 celcius I start seeing the vehicles in battlefield vietnam to start pixelizing. The surfaces turns to bright white sand particles. I am guessing I need to do something to this card to make it cooler. Any suggestions?

Jeeze man, my 6800gt is 63-64c idling! Of course, after running 3dmark05 it isn't any higher 🙂 Come to think of it, I bumped it up to 400/1100 and it didn't go up a single degree.

I switch out of BFV to look at what the temp is. When at 54c everything looks fine at 70c Buildings and vehicles start to get the sand effect on them.

Damnet I just shredded the screws on my card. Anybody have a fix for that? I was going to throw some better thermal cream on the R420.

Doh, looks like you need to hit the hardware store for new fasteners. Also, switch out of game causes the temp to drop really quick, use RivaTuner to monitor your temps while in game. If it was 70c after switching out I hate to think how hot it was in game; sounds like your case could use better cooling.
