This is my first tablet in many years. Been waiting for a google version. Got it this week.
I like it, because I knew the shortcomings going in. I didn't really even want the dock at all, but now that I have it the dock is actually nifty. It would be nice if it cost $100 less with an option of no dock, but now that I have it, it's just kept handy nearby easy to pick up and charged. It's silly the dock is basically a dumb device without the tablet docked in it though. That can hopefully be changed. But the dock is actually useful, I just keep it in my kitchen.
It runs very smoothly. Stuff launches in a jiffy, the screen is nice to look at. The basic apps are optimized for the tablet. I know apple has way more tablet optimized apps, but that's ok. This is going to be used for a few things - watching media, browsing the web, using a few apps. At home mostly and on some trips and short excursions. Browsing on Bumble and Hinge is pretty nice on the bigger screen at my couch lol - I got a Logi bluetooth chiclet tablet for it. On my trip out west this summer, I'll just bring the tablet, no laptop, and use the keyboard to spend 30 minutes a day working. Easy peasy.
If you want a productivity tablet with tons of optimized apps, this is not for you. But if you just want a nice tablet in the Android ecosystem that will get lots of support for a few years plus, to use for the big use cases of a casual tablet user, it's a great choice.
The only other thing I question slightly is the 16:9 ratio. So far it's been fine but I will wonder if 4:3 would be nicer for my use cases.
