Pixel 7 Pro, Nova 7, and notifications

Using Nova 7 with Pixel 7 Pro. Im trying to find a way to show at least the new messages dot (like in stock Android 13) on the icons but cant find a way to do it. Ive followed directions from several sources on Google search to no avail.

Any tips? Ideally Id like a badge with unread item #'s, but dont think thats possible. Ill be happy with just the notification dot.

I have the same phone and use Nova. There is a setting in Nova actually called Notification Badges and you can customize them there. They work fine for me. You can literally pick from dynamic badges, dot notifications or a numerical notification, and even pick what corner of the app icon you want them to appear on.
