I'm using this proc with its standard fan and heat sink + nanotherm silver xtc on a Gigabyte 8PE667Ultra. Everything is on default setting (Vcore, FSB). The Enlight case that I use has two fans in it. When idles the temp is only 41?C, but under full load (for example when I run Prime95 + 3Dmark) the temp will jump to 60?C . I got this reading from Mbm5, BIOS, & Sisoft Sandra. Is it normal?

Sounds high for stock vcore.

I get close to 60C under full load but that is with 1.68vcore
running 172fsb.

You may want to remove the thermal pad and use ASIII.
Should drop your load 3-5C.

He already said he's using nanotherm silver XTC, which is better than artic silver. zulfi, the temps are a little high for the stock cooler, are you sure you installed the hsf right and have proper case cooling? However, this is key question though, is it stable? If your comp is stable, then it's fine, no need to change anything.

I already remove the thermal pad and reseating the hsf twice, on proper case cooling I think I have enough. On stability issues, yes it?s very stable (mostly I?m using this comp for converting dvd to svcd and gaming with no hiccup whatsoever, but I will try to reseating the hsf again, if its not work, maybe I have to change the hsf with Alpha Pal.

Thanks for tips guys!

Sounds too high for P$-2.4ghz. I'm overclocking a 1.6a to 2.4ghz with stock voltage and thermal pad. Idle=31 centigrade, max=42 cetigrade on a ANTEC SX1040 w/400w ps. Antec front and rear 80mm fans being used.

And here i was worried about mine that gets to 55 under full load at stock. But since i have already tested my 2.26 up to a 2.63 and it has run over 2.7 before as well, i got a new hsf comin so i can get the most out of it:)
