I don't know why I didn't notice the review and posts about the Radeon LE (overclocked and with the HyperZ Reg hack) being such a good card. I got a GF2MX because i wasn't aware of the radeon a month ago. Today, curious as to why so many people were getting Radeon LE's, I looked at the review and was surprised to see that it whupped the geforce2mx in all the benchmarks that anandtech ran. How does an overclocked GF2mx compare to the overclocked RadeonLE? My card's oc'ed to 200/195.

EDIT: Just so you guys know, I'm not disappointed with the MX, it runs CS and all the games i play right now just fine, but you know the tweaker mentality, coulda had something better for same price

If you just got it, take it back or send it back and tell them you are not happy with it's performance and you want something else.

dude, it's an ati card. if you want crappy drivers, then get the radeon. personally, i stay away from ati cards for that reason. however, i am interested in their upcoming product. is that the same card that's in the gamecube?

Funny, I'm pissed because I bought a Radeon 64 VIVO instead of a Geforce series card...

edit: spelling

Really? GameCube uses ATI's chip? Interesting.

I'm really happy with the performance vs cost my Radeon LE has provided. However, I don't think it's worth exchanging cards and etc to get one. I think your MX is pretty much the same as the LE, just small performance differences.

You also forgot to note the great 2d that the ATI cards have. While my MSI gf2mx has 2d better than most nvidia cards, it is still nothing compared to what those radeons can pumpout:Q

Bad Radeon drivers are a thing of the past. You ask most people and they will tell you the same thing.

who games in win2k anyway?...

besides, most of the games that u'd run in win2k work fine w/ the latest radeon drivers...most games are based on similar/same engines - i.e. quake II/III...which works perfectly w/ radeon win2k drivers.

anyway, the 2d, dvd playback and 3d are all better on the radeon, which makes it well worth a trade/return for one...

i hate my geforce...runs games that i play fine, but the 2d is killing me at high res.
i don't even turn my monitor on anymore.

Remember, the benchmarks Anandtech ran were all in 32bit color to put the LE in a favorable light. If you only play games in 16bit color, stick to your MX. However, if you like to game in 32 bit color, watch a lot of DVD's using ati's dvd player or windvd (the only 2 softdvd players I'm aware of that support iDCT) and run 2d apps then by all means return your MX and pick up an LE or even a 64mb vivo. (I've heard that some 64mb vivo radeons have been shipping with 5.5ns memory good of an o/c of 200mhz or higher although the core seems to be unstable much past 200mhz).

My LE o/c'd to 189/189 using powerstrip with max anisotropic and advanced memory timing runs a constant 99fps in CS at 1024x768 in 32bpp. :);):p

Ummm, I do.

MisterNi, my new 64 DDR has 5ns ram and stock clocked at 198/198mhz.

No.

Kinda. The chip was actually developed by ArtX, which ATi acquired after they had finished designing the GameCube chip.

Readeon's still have poor win2k drivers. Compatibility is good but speed is low.
