I think the best possible comparison would be watching "Blair Witch Project" today, during the day, with 50 people all talking and telling you it's fake vs watching it alone in the theater the day it came out with no clue what it was about. One way is awesome and the other sucks.

Totally with you on this. Completely different experience for that movie; I experienced it the good way when it came out. No way it can be replicated now.

George Clooney (why on earth is that stuuupid idiot famous??? I can't stand that guy, and also don't see any reason why movie producers would give him a penny??? He's a total idiot. Apparently chicks think he looks good? Why? He's a stupid bozo 100% through & through, and ugly. I don't get it AT ALL)

Actually, Clooney is primarily a producer. He even funds many projects out of his own pockets.

You say you don't understand why chicks dig him...I see a guy that doesn't get to talk to many chicks.

Also, fix your damn font already.

Truth is stranger than fiction, including a us president that ordered that a teacher be sent out in the space shuttle despite having no real training.

Not that any amount of training would of helped her.

Agreed. My girlfriend and I thought the movie was terrible and were completely disappointed by the overall "Story" and character.

I don't know what I was expecting going in, but the rave reviews I was seeing made me expect something better than what I saw. Hell, Sandra's character was not likeable at all and couldn't do jack shit right. The barking scene was about the time I hope she died and had the credits roll.

I know now that how many oscars a movie won means absolutely nothing about quaility as I'd see it. I watched The Dallas Buyer's Club and thought it was a meh movie too...

Oh... "blah blah blah...no taste in movies...blah blah blah...you're not refined enough to understand the subtleties of art...blah blah fart"
If you didn't watch it in IMAX 3D, you didn't watch the same movie. It's not really about the story with this one, it's about the experience. Sorry you missed out. :(

I seriously don't think they should have bothered to release this one outside of theaters.

It's just a bit annoying how overly panicky she acts while clooney is so damn calm.

At least you didn't complain about the satellite that blew up in slow motion. The pieces from the explosion moved apart from each other at a rate of about 2 inches per minute. Thus, an hour later, they were really close together.

Wasn't there multiple satellites that were impacted from the debris of the initial satellite and their debris was then thrown in multiple directions too? So, it's not too inconceivable that an immense debris cloud would come back around the Earth an hour or so later.

Wasn't as concerned about the physics in the movie. Was more interested in the acting. I had serious doubts that Bullock or Clooney could play the roles well. So I watched it out of curiosity to see if the casting turned out bad. Well I was wrong, they both seemed like astronauts to me giving convincing performances. A pleasant surprise.

I thought that it was a decent movie. Not really believable, but a fun popcorn flick.

Besides, the whole movie seems to exist in an alternate future where the shuttle is still flying in 2020, when the Chinese space station will actually be up there. Isn't Hubble supposed to be replaced by then?
