I know, I'm late to the party...

Anyway, I came home for the evening to spend some time with my folks since I don't see them that often. My dad just got a 42" Vizio and DIRECTV HD so we decided to watch a movie tonight -- so we chose to look at Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End in HD.

Now I've seen the first two movies and found them highly enjoyable. However, this one left me scratching my head. The whole scene with the multiple Jacks and the crabs and just about everything after that just seemed like a jumbled mess of random ideas strung together to make a movie.

I finally turned it off after about an hour and a half. I looked over and my parents were already fast asleep anyway.

Maybe I should have given it more of a chance, but what I saw blew chunks.

I liked it. It takes a while to figure out whats happening at parts, and it was aggravating to keep track of who was betraying who, and who was un-betraying who.

It was alright, I liked the first one best. The 3rd one was weird, but that's what Wikipedia is for. ;)

IMO they should have just stopped after the first one. The second was more of an action-comedy than anything else, and in the 3rd one they tried to get all literary (despite the fact that they'd already sucessfully done so in the first movie) and threw a bunch of random sailor superstition in. The acting also comparatively sucked in the third movie.

Don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy literary/movie analysis, but when the literary elements are forced it gets on my nerves.

The first one flowed naturally, and the second one did the same well enough. The third was a patchwork.

I loved PotC, but I honestly have no clue what the storyline was during the second and third films.

they had to make it so the girl had a bigger role to be feminist...felt rather forced. course that was the least of its problems. it got so convoluted i just stopped caring.

don't worry, the end was worse than the first half.

3rd was by far the worst of the group, they just went too far with the story

And what do you know, she went from being a decent likable character to a heavy-handed, stubborn, overconfident, undercompetent bitch. And the part where she became the "Pirate King" was the crowning achievement in forced storyline stupidity. That BS had no place in these movies.

Because Kiera Knightly is basically a skeleton with skin stretched all over?

I seriously question the values Society has placed for judging attractive females if they think peeps like Kiera Knightly are mind blowing hot. She needs some fat on those bones, and then we can talk.

I didnt like at worlds end either, i kept looking at my watch hoping it would end soon but i was only half way into the movie. Too many pointless stories stringed into one.
