Technical Audio Devices (TAD), a subsidiary of Pioneer Electronics, is proud to announce a new development of Blu-ray audio technology that will leave audio enthusiasts in emotionally unprecedented bliss.

TAD makes some great stuff, but I want to know more about the format and how it'll be played.

Actually reading the press release, it actually doesn't sound like this is a new format, but that they're using BR-D Profile 3.0.

"Longtime collaborators, Schnee and Sax are showcasing their new high resolution recordings to be issued on a music-only format utilizing Blu-ray Disc technology, giving consumers an unprecedented opportunity to experience digital music that rivals 2-channel analog sound."

Yea, but a good analog recording and playback system is still the best. Plus, even tho I supported DVDA and SACD, non really caught on. I fear all these changes and updates and versions to the BR spec is just gonna kill it. Hopefully something will come out of the gate soon that just gets it mostly done right the first time.
