My Pioneer 920K has been acting strange of late. When I am watching TV or using my PC, both of which are connected through HDMI to the AVR then to the TV. I keep losing signal to the tv. The Receiver shows its not getting any signal. this happens intermittently like it stays on for 5 seconds, goes blank for 2 then comes back, etc. Also after doing this a few times, the screen becomes all pixellated like the image is 8 bit or something.

I contacted Pioneer and they told me to take it to a repair shop since its out of warranty. He also said the HDMI board might need to be replaced. I checked and the HDMI board is about 200 bucks, and I paid 260 for the receiver. Am I better off getting a new one instead?

Unless you're buying high end, most electronics today are disposable.

You make the call.

Yeah, I was prefering the Denons too. I went ahead and ordered a new AVR2113CI from PaulsTV. Wanted new since they come with 3 year warranty, and got a really great price for it within my $500 budget.
