Pioneer DVR-A08XL

What are the steps to flashing the firmware on a Pioneer DVR- A08XL. I have 1.10 and want to flash to 1.18 for compatibilty. I ask this for 2 reasons, one, I can't find anything on Pioneer's website and two, i killed another drive of mine trying to flash the firmware (at least it was old, so it really didn't matter, but i would like to do this one right). Thanks.

Click here to download the firmware for your drive, just double-click the file and wait.
In the event of a bad flash, you can usually force a re-flash in DOS using the Pioneer flashing utility with the /F switch.

Done, thanks. Much less of a headache than my old (dead) drive. I am not going to worry about trying to fix my old one. I found a better drive anyway (the drive was 6 years old), that is cheaper and faster. Thanks for your help.

No problem, thanks for letting us know that it went okay. Too many people take advice and never report back if said advice actually fixed the problem 🙂
