I havent been able to find a direct comparison of the 2 so I am looking for some help. The asus does have light scribe but I guess it would be pretty useless since I use inkjet printable discs.

My guess is that more people would go with the pioneer but i just wanted to check in and get some feedback.

I currently have a plextor 712SA. this isn't a replacement but a addon.

Is it possible to burn 2 discs at once with a good system?

It's not a good idea to burn multiple disks at once... most of the time both disks will be coasters. I don't know if this applies to SATA dries but with my IDE experience it gave me lots of coasters.

I've burned two discs @ once with Nero before with different burners a bunch of times before, no problems.

Dual IDE burners never worked for me either, since i had either both on the same channel, or a HDD on the same channel.

With everything SATA, or only one device (burner or HDD) per channel on IDE, i see no reason why burning two DVDs at once w/ be an issue.

Assuming you have a decent CPU of course, preferably dual core :)
