Pioneer DVR-105 "driver" problem *fixed*

I updated my DVR-105 to the hacked firmware that allows 12x ripping, 2x burns on 1x discs, and makes it region free. Thankfully, flashing it went just fine.

However, whenever i resart my computer, the "new hardware found" wizard comes up, saying it found a Pioneer DVR-105, and it wants me to install drivers for it. Despite the fact that the drive came with no drivers, and none ever had to be installed. The drive works fine, and is listed as "working properly" in the device manager. the only problem is that every time i start windows, i get that wizard popping up. It is quite annoying. Even checking the box that says "do not prompt me again to install this software (or something to that effect)" does nothing.

Can anyone tell me why windows is so adamant about getting these phantom drivers installed? Any help is much appreciated!

EDIT: ok my freind has the same drive, and he upgraded to the same firmware w/ no problem, so i had him tell me what drivers the device manager listed for the drive. Apparently I already had all those files on my computer, but the dll that i needed, i had no idea that i needed it nor where it was, and the automatic driver update looked in the wrong spot. So when he told me I needed said file, I simply selected that folder for the driver update, and it worked like a charm. I'll chalk this one up to me being a dumbass.

That's happened to me a few times. What I usually did was go through the wizard's routine and tell it to search in some directory that it wouldn't find anything in. At the end it would say something like 'if you do not wish to install a driver at this time click finish', so I'd just click finish and would never be prompted again upon reboot.

yeah, that's part of the problem though. At the end of the installation process, when windows realizes there are no drivers to install, theres a "back" "finish" and "cancel" button.

Under them is a checkbox that says "don't prompt me again to install this software". I have that checked, and i click finish, yet every time i restart, it tries to install the drivers again. WTF?

Remove the drive completely and reboot twice with it disconnected. Make sure there are no traces of it in the device manager. Then connect it back.

Hopefully that will fix it.
