Anyone know which one of the wires is the 12 v reg. that you run to the amp for power? so basically when you turn the car off the amp doesnt stay on.

By amp do you mean an external amp other than the deck? Do you mean the remote wire? If so, it should be blue and have a fuse on it.

Its an external amp and i want it hooked up to the cd deck(well the wires behind it) and i need to know which one of them i splice and hook up to it for power

yeah, you're looking for the "remote turn-on wire"...it doesn't actually supply power to the amp though :)

not sure what color it is for that particular model though

I have always run the power wire (usually 4 guage - multiple amp setup) directly to the battery. Then off of the deck you install the RCA's and the remote wire. The remote wire sends a signal to the amp to power it on when the deck is running. In my experience the remote wire (on Pioneer decks) has always been blue. Then just ground the amp out in the trunk somewhere.

I have never spliced a wire from the deck to bring 12v of power to the amp.

you can't power an external amp from the headunit

you have to wire directly to battery
