Anyone have one of these installed? I spoke with the local custom auto installation shop and they have to build a kit to hold it in place and make it look flush, but these things just look beautiful I think.

Audi interior w/ Pioneer Avic-D3

Although, I have a A6 and that is an A4... interior is pretty much similar.

That XM NavTraffic service looks awesome- and its iPod integration appears to be very, very slick.

Those are the best looking indash navigation units, they look very OEMish. I'm planning on buying an Eclipse AVN6600 soon.

Scoshe might make a double din dash kit, What year is your Audi?

2004, I was told that they have to build something though to hold the navigation in place and make it look flush like that, the ones they sell apparently don't look as good. Could just be the custom car place trying to get me for a few bucks though...

I am getting a D3 installed on Sept 1st. on my 06 Civic. I can't wait. It's like waiting for Christmas.. :D

I am avoiding a Scoshe kit for my Civic though, and going to buy the Honda OEM double din kit. I've seen the Scoshe kit and thought it was utter crap.

I have one and don't like it too much, the Nav is a pain, you gotta pull the E-Brake to either watch movies, or put anything into the nav.. Kinda Gay. But I guess it looks nice.

I almost bought the D3. I didn't like the fact however that you need to take the nav cd out in order to play your music cd. Ended up getting the Kenwood instead. The navigation in the Kenwood has 3d view and is stored in flash memory so the boot up time is very fast.

I didnt like that either, but thought it was still a decent head unit.

I am so glad I didn't go through with it though, since my whole sound system was stolen a few months back and I ended up getting rid of the car because of it. :(

I noticed that A4 doesn't have steering wheel audio controls like mine did. You might want to look into that if you have them, as they might not be compatible.

AVIC D3 e-Brake and Speed Sensor By Pass.....VERY simple

very illegal too.

By passing ebrake and speed sensor saftey is perfectly legal. Driving while watching a movie in most states however is illegal.

AFAIK bypassing the ebrake and speed sensor is ILLEGAL in most if not all US states. If it were legal no shop would turn away good money to do this.

Because they can be liable if you get into a car accident while watching a movie at the wheel. Just like the companies that make these product putting these safety features in, to cover their asses. If not, you'll get the idiots that go, "oh, I didn't know. The shop I took it to did it for me".
