Pioneer 500M vs 116

Does anybody know anything about this drive compared to the 116? Is it newer and better? I tried to look up some specs on Pioneer's website, but couldn't find anything. I also called Pioneer, but the guy on the phone didn't know about the product either, saying that it just recently came out.
