Pioneer 106S, DMA capable?

I have this Pioneer 106S slot-load DVD drive. I have it hooked up as a slave on the primary ide channel. (my plextor is the master). In the Windows device manager, it lists the Pioneer running in PIO mode. Does anyone know if it's DMA capable? I've been having trouble getting the Pioneer to read Cd-R's. Wonder if it has something to do with it.

I think I figured it out. I had the Pioneer setup as a slave on the primary IDE interface, I took it off and set it on the secondary IDE as a master, and now Windows has it running in DMA Mode 4. Boner.

My Plextor seems to be limited to DMA mode 2 though, oh well.

I also flashed the Pioneer to the latest firmware just for good measure, seems to work ok.

That's weird those Pioneers run at UDMA 4 with is ATA66. Most CD/DVD drives run at ata33, but my brother's Pioneer reads the exact same UDMA 4.

Make your setup like this

IDE 1- > Hdd
IDE 2 -> DVD (Primary) -> CDRW (Secondary)

Go to Device Manager delete your Secondary IDE channel under IDE ATA /ATAPI controllers. Restart & insure DMA is enabled this time.
