It has a TI chipset on it. Tiny red PCB, 2 external ports and 1 internal port. It uses the small floppy power connector.

Not sure if Circuit City matches prices or if you could get a price match before you take the $60 instant savings and then get the $50 mail in rebate.

If so comp USA has it for $79.99 Regular Price, -$60 instant savings = $19.99 - $50 mail in rebate = Free or get paid to buy it ;)

Just not sure if it would work, if so let me know would appriciate it :D

They're not all gone yet! I just picked one up at one of my local Circuit City (we have 3 in town). It was the last one they had. However, one of the other stores told me it's expecting two more in tomorrow. Don't give up on this deal yet. $19.99 for a firewire card, a DV cable and editing software. Thank you for the heads up! :)

?? I have an old DV Studio card, but dont recall any place to plug a power connector. The rest of your description sounds like the same card.
What is the power for. I actually have a few (3) different firewire cards and none of them have a power connector. I know the 6 pin connector provides power (along with data) but i figured it got it from the pci slot.

No power connector needed (other than the power from the PCI slot). I just opened the installation manual and confirmed this. There is no mention of plugging in any power connectors. You just install it in a PCI slot and you're good to go.

I've never installed any cards other than a modem and NIC so forgive my ignorance. All I do is pop this FireWire card into an empty PCI slot and that's it? Nothing to connect?

Is this the best card for my external 80GB Maxtor FireWire 5400RPM HD?

Nice package for $20 AR. You get a Firewire card (made in China), Firewire cable 4 pins to 6 pins, and software. I bought
this package for my cousin and installed it in minutes. Windows XP automatically recognized the hardware. I'm not
that familar with DV editing software, but this one was very intuitive and rather easy to use without having to read the manual.
I may have to check out CC and get one for myself. The going price that I've seen for the cable alone is $30.

got one but kinda don't like, the program is buggy, does not support PAL and picky on hardware capture device.

Noooo! Almost all my local CC's are OOS
CC online said none in stock at my local store last night but went to store this afternoon and they had one, asked the employee if they got in a truck and he said no, so check the store anyway if you really want one?!?

I think I'll just order a conventional FireWire card, just not sure which model is the best and where to order from.
