Pinnacle Systems Dazzle DM7000 Video capture card, opinions?

it runs about $230 shipped on pricewatch, and it looks like it has real nice features, resolution, and sound capture. This will be my 1st video capture card. I just wanted to know if anyone has experianced this card and any strong/weak points it may have. On paper it looks as good as what Matrox offers for $800.

1. Can i make GOOD quality videos, as in nice picture and nice sound. I dont need 5.1 digital or anything crazy, i just dont want it to sound flat or muffled, or have blurry capture.

2. Does it come with software i need to clip out things i dont want. EG: commercials, im transferring a bunch of media over from my VCR to my PC, and i want to keep the quality the best i can.

PC performance is not a concern, running a 3.27ghz P4 with PC1200+ RDRAM, and i have 80GB of free space to work with 🙂

thx in advance all

(btw not interested in ATi AIW cards.)

I have been using the usb external for about 2 years, and absolutely
LOVE it! The price is a bit steep but well worth it. Keep in mind a large
hd would be in order; 30 minutes= close to 8 gigs.A dvd burner would be a
perfect compliment. You could also use it to save your old vhs recordings.the possiblities are endless; good luck
