LAtest incarnation on this except this only needs the Upgrade rebate and no other mail in rebates.

Competitor/Pinnacle Upgrade rebate:
Rebate Link

$24-$20 upgrade rebate. Free shipping on $25+. Upgrade list includes Videostudio which I'm sure a lot of people have a copy of or know someone with. All you need from the old software is the front page of the manual to get rebate.

According to your link, it's a "web-only special."

Just an FYI to anyone planning to go to the store. Good find, OP.

Keep in mind this is the non-Plus version - no extra video track (picture in picture) or pan and zoom of still images.

Also keep in mind that the next release of Pinnacle Studio is expected in the October / November timeframe.

how does this compare with the media suite that was $19 AR @ best buy last week?
got scared of upgrade rebate and flodged didn't want to drive across town for it
really i want something that will clean up images/remove artifacts/mosaics

They also have media suite online at circuit City for <50.. If there's an upgrade rebate on that too it may work out same price as the deal you mentioned or less. for some reason Studio gets decent reviews but Media suite gets horrible reviews. Guess whatever extra stuff you get really isn't worth it.

It also sounds like what you're looking for is more jsut an image editing program, these are for video mainly. You could save some bucks going for paint shop pro or something. The best place to find cheap image editing programs is probably Staples clearance section. I picked up Ulead VideoStudio and Photoimpact previous versions there for 25 total on clearance.

this is a decent price

only issue with pinnacle is they lock all the extra goodies and you have to pay for them
other than that its a pretty robust video editing suite

thanks op
