good price, but that is one piece of crap software.

i never have problems with software crashing, but pinnacle crashes/locks up at least once every thirty minutes. be sure to save often.

check out the reviews on amazon - looks like a lot of others have the same problem link

Yes, pieces of crap! I had version 7 and 8. It first work when I install but then everytime I used it, it reboot my system. I upgrade all their patch and still giving me the problem! I email pinnacle and nothing can help!

My version 8 isn't that bad. Occasional lock-ups is all. What is better than this (that's as cheap as this)? I sure can't afford Adobe Premiere.

Reading all this stuff makes me appreciate the PowerBook we got for my dad just for iMovie and iDVD. He's been cranking on it since day 1. This is after trying Pinnacle and a whole bunch ofd others on a SMP, SCSI machine.

hmm...I bought 8 but lost the CDs...maybe I should get 9. I bought the version with the PCI capture card and breakout box, both of which are useless because I've lost the CDs and none of the other video capturing/editing software I've tried recognizes the card. getting 9 might be a good idea...I remember 8 being incredibly buggy, but the patch to 8.1 helped a lot.
