I have a 2.4 that I know can do 3.6, but my crappy extra motherboard doenst have fsb options. I poked around with the datasheets and played with the bsel pins, but I could only get it to go to 100fsb from 133. Does anyone know what to do to the bsel pins to make it work at 200fsb?

FSB 100MHz BSEL0 and BSEL1 have voltage

FSB 133MHz BSEL0 has no voltage, BSEL1 has voltage

FSB 200MHz BSEL0 has voltage, BSEL1 has no voltage

Whatever your CPU is at default, to change it to another speed you have to apply voltage (wire trick) or remove voltage (breaking off pin).

Note that while most boards can be fooled this way, some just won't work. Example is an Asus P4S8X-MX that I used to have. It did not want to work with a CPU that had BSEL0 broken off - no POST. Also, you have to be 100% sure the CPU works at the higher speed.

i'm sure, i tested it in another board.

so, short vcc to bsel0 and break bsel1, ok, will test

with bsel 1 broken off but bsel0 untouched, it works at 166fsb, as xeons with the same mod do.

Strange. There shouldn't be a 166MHz FSB setting on P4 boards...

the chipsets support it, xeons mod similarly

it's now working at 3.6g, ram was limiting it (cheap pc2100). 18*200 :D
