It always warms my heart to see a fellow FBody shut down another ricer. The one thing I hate most about ricers are their trash talking brain dead owners. The more trash talking they do the more evident it is that their ricemobile is all show and no go.

you sound just like those trash talking ricers 😀

Well, I guess you would know more about the subject than me. You hail from ricetopia, AKA Los Angeles, the mecca of rice.

Heh... this is the mecca of assholes and they drive both domestic and imports.

I never said I disliked imports. I dislike ricers though.

So which one is the ricer? The car or the driver? Seems to me that you hate both of them anyway.

I use it interchangeably though. It seems that you would like for me to hate both of them. It would make it easier and justifiable to hate me then. Which I wouldn't care anyways, so I'll say I hate both of them.

And despite all the import vs domestic trash talking and showmanship - in other words, taking themselves seriously - no one even once remarks on that 6 wheeled pig of an excuse for a prepubescent white trash kids idea of an offroad vehicle.

The guy with the TA has a lot more class than the average domestic/import asshole.

He wasn't the typical domestic fanboy who hates on every import car out there. There's assholes on both sides, I just wish people would recognize that and stop pretending like only one side is full of sh*t.

I don't see how anyone can say any race on this show is unfair.

They negotiate car lengths, just like braket racing does with the delay on the tree. You could have a top fueler against a go-ped and the go-ped might win.

The trick to this show is to sandbag enough to fool your opponent. Kinda texas hold'em with cars.

BTW-did anyone see the one where they guy just bought a vintage GS 1100 for next to nothing and took the brand new $24,000 V-Rod the other guy just bought?

Yeah, they really hosed the Trans Am owner. But he won in the end, so it's all good.

Some people are saying that the show is "fake" and they don't actually sign over their cars... which I kind of assumed. Does anyone know if that's true?

Its a real show. The civic guy pleaded to buy his car back. So the TA owner sold it to him for 300$ but kept the front bumper to hang in his garage. lol

The TA owner denies he sold the car back for $300, It was rumored to be more but he won't say the exact amount.

Yeah, I saw that... he said they agreed to keep the amount confidential. I still wonder if that's really true or if that's what the show's producers told them to say. It just strikes me as unlikely that someone would agree to put their car up in a contest like that, ESPECIALLY when the "rules" are agreed on ad hoc between races. It makes for better TV if they're competing for their cars, but it wouldn't surprise me if that's not truly the case (or if at very least the show compensates the loser for the car). I don't think many people would want to go on a game show where they could potentially LOSE something.

I agree, I find it hard to believe as well. No way I'd do it anyway but I guess it's a loophole so they can "gamble" without fear of persecution.

I know drag racing is hard on cars...but it seemed like there were a LOT of malfunctions. Wouldn't you want to check your vehicle very thoroughly if there was a chance of losing it?

I mean, the Civic guy complained about an oil leak, a cut line, a bad clutch, losing third gear (wtf, on a manual? You always lose second before third) and a hard-to-get-into second gear.

The Trans Am guy's complaint was a bit more valid...I mean, if he doesn't have a tranny cooler, I can see a gear going out after a bunch of hard runs.
Still kinda lame they penalize cars until the outcome changes...if I had a boost controller, would they make me keep turning it further and further down until I lost?

He had a tranny cooler I believe, it was sitting on the line on the transbreak while the other teak goofed off with getting setup and staged. That caused more heat than the cooler could dissipate without good moving airflow.

1. The producers for "Pinks" should have had a better matchup - a Supra or 300Z instead of a FWD go-kart vs. a domestic
2. Why does anyone spend that much time and money to mod a Civic?

the engineer was a pretty cool dude though.

Where was that forum he was posting on? I want to read that

So from this post...it can be inferred that you believe that everyone who prefers a domestic hates / talks $hit about all imports? By the bolded statement, you imply that only the "domestic" side is full of $hit. Which honestly couldn't be further from the truth.

You're right - there are assholes on both sides. Maybe you should re-evaluate your own obvious import bias and take your own advice?

Ferrari tends to disagree with you.
Also all the F1 racers too.

That's ok, no one's perfect.

If you read what the people involved had to say, apparently the two cars were closely matched, just that it initially wasn't prepped well and the driver was really bad. Both cars run in the 10s (full boost vs no n2o)

The kid's very first mistake was even running with street tires when he had slicks or whatever already.

The guy who owns the trans am took a pass after he won and said the civic probably could have beaten him in their respective tunes if he knew how to drive. Also was a real class act, no trash talk, sold the car back for cheap, sticks up for the kid even after winning. Good man.

Why did you ignore the first sentence of my post?

The guy with the TA has a lot more class than the average domestic/import asshole.

Why would I say that if you claim that I think everybody who prefers domestic dislikes imports? You're welcome to search my post history and look for any "obvious import bias". Just look in several NASCAR threads and you'll see me trying to stick up for it despite the idiots in here who flame it without knowing anything about it. We all know how many imports there are in NASCAR.

I know quite a bit about honda performance modifications, and some people do it and others do it right.

Some people.....like this fat ass did it wrong. He shows up first of all with 15" rims and drag radials, has no LSD, and no traction bars. All critical in a FWD car in a drag race. Next, he does not know how to negotiate very well at all and comes off pretty stupid.

We all know a LS1 can hook like no other with slicks so its up to him to hook and go. What a excellent example of why its totally ridiculous to have 500whp+ in a civic.
