Pink color at windows start

On occasion when windows xp pro starts up the colors are skewed so the screen is VERY pink. I havent been able to pin down why.

I have to go into my display settings, advanced, advanced 3d, color and change it to the default. Yet it still gets screwed up every once in a while.

I have at ATI 9700 and use the latest Omega Drivers.

Any insight would be appreciated!
 
Check the monitor cable to make sure its fully seated. If not you can get weird colors.
 
I have reinstalled the same drivers and tried different ones and it does the same thing.

Monitor is fine, in fact I got a new one recently and it has the same behavior.

Thanks for the suggestions though!
