Anyone know where I can get some good paddles for cheap? The only places around here are Academy and they only sell a couple different types of paddles. Where can I get a paddle?

I'm trying to find one that is smooth on one side and pipped on the other side.

I used to play more often...my relatives brought me a few from Taiwan, so I have two Butterfly's and I don't remember what the other one was. One for knife grip and 2 for chopstick grip :p They have different woods in the sandwich and rubber, cost over $100 each I think.

If you go to a tournament event, you will see a lot of vendors and that will broaden your choices. I just gave out a few blades and rubbers to a friend living in canada. If you can make friend in a table tennis club, they will tell you all about which rubber and blade to get. Just my 2 cents.

How cheap do you mean and how serious are you about ping pong? If it's just a competitive hobby for you, you can find a nice decent paddle for like $20-$30. If you're really serious, then they can get well over $100.
