Pin stuck in socket

Got a s939 processor that got ripped out of the socket since the thermal grease was so tacky, as a result it ripped off a pin and I wanna make sure it's out of there and if it's not I want to know how to even get it out of there.

Any suggestions?

I had something similar happen with a u-wire in a Xeon system I was overclocking.

I just made sure that the socket was open fully and held the case upside-down and shook real well. I also got the vacuum and put the hose directly on top of the socket, moving it around a little bit for a good five minutes.

Dunno if I got it out or not but I never had any probs after that.

The more important question is how is that CPU going to function w/o a pin? 😕

I'll give those suggestions a try when I get home tonight.

It won't even post without that pin so I'm really not sure.

I'll have to either get a new processor or try taking a pin from an old processor, putting it into the slot and hoping it'll make proper contact.

At least they're pretty cheap now if I want to replace the processor but the mobo isn't easily replaceable since this is on a Shuttle SFF PC.

Edited my post. I put the HOSE on the socket...not the house. 😱

S939s are cheap these days; new SFF systems aren't. I'd not even mess with trying to glue a pin on there or whatever. IMO, it's not worth frying the whole system/videocard/memeory/etc to save $120 or whatever.
