Pin 11 on Monitor Cable Bent

On my old 15 inch IBM monitor, pin 11 is bent severely so that it is laying flat, and shorting to ground. I was wondering whether I should try to bend it back upright, or simply yank it out of there? From a hd15 pinout I looked at it seemed that it was the upper bit of the monitor ID code, so it doesn't seem terribly important. The monitor works off and on when I jiggle the cable, so I think when it shorts it stops working, but I can move the cable slightly to get it to not touch anything and let the monitor start working.

Bend it back. I dont think too many of the pins are "extra", and even if it is, having it straight will stop the short.
