pimp my overclock

I just started OCing my opty 144 cab2e 0545 mpmw (not sure about the last 4 letters) but I'm having some trouble.

My system is prime stable at 265 x 9, but won't post with a fsb of 270 or greater. I've tried lowering the multi to 4x, increasing voltages (core, chipset, ram) and running a ram divider, but it still wont post with a fsb of 270. Loosening the ram timings didn't work either. Anyone have any ideas? I'm sure it can go higher.

When you say lowering the multi to x4, do you mean the LDT multi for the HT? If so then lower it to x3, as you would be breaching 1000HT at 270 x4 = 1080HT .. where as you should try 270 x3 = 810HT

Yeah what he said. Put it as 3x. If that doesnt work. I dunno what to tell you. Assuming you tried more voltage....

It could be your motherboard limiting it. That overclock is definitely on the low side. My opty 144 CACJE isnt the best but I was still able to easily do 2.6ghz with only 1.45volts.
