my favorite type of pen is the pilot precise v5 because it writes a thin and smooth line. however, every one that i have owned in the past ten years has leaked through the barrel before even half of the ink is gone.

i haven't bought one in about 5 years. have they finally fixed this problem? i hope so. i find it difficult to believe that it could become "america's #1 selling roller" by leaking all over everything.

I was playing with it and it suddenly leaked all over my face, just out of nowhere, made a huge mess and there was just globs of it everywhere...unfortunately I had my webcam on and it go 'leaked' to the internet...

If you mean leak out of the pen to wherever you store the pen, then no, they do not. If you mean leak from the ink chamber into the front area of the pen, then yes, they still do that.

i don't actually carry pens around with me. i leave them in my car or in my desks.

when the ones i've owned leaked, the ink has always somehow managed to work it's way through that entire baffled area and out of the front of that clear plastic area. as long at the cap is on, the leak would stay contained within the cap. then, you discover the leak the hard way ;)

I like the pens, and don't have a problem with them leaking at sea level but every single one I've tired to use on a plane has leaked. Do not attempt to use them at 30,000 feet.

Love the V5. Been using them for years. I've only had one or two "leak" in all that time, though admittedly, I've never used them at 30,000 feet. :p

the new packaging claims that they are "airplane safe" so maybe that means they're also car and desk safe now. i'll give another one a shot next time i remember pens.

i'm a gambler so i reserve the right to use the phrase "my luck HAS to change!" :)

Normal Bic crystal pens are my normal choice and they explode all over my notes and crap sometimes, from long use and abuse.
