We are gonna see this mostly put into 15.6" 720p TN bottom barrel laptops anyway. PC laptop makers just don't get it and thinks their cost cutting SKU flood strategy is going to work forever.

Just to point out, obviously you are talking about graphics, not CPU performance. However, since I want to game, I would only consider AMD in the low/mid price area. I am hoping trinity will perform in the range of the current GT540/550 discrete cards. This would satisfy me for light to moderate gaming.
However, for a true gaming laptop, I would still go with Intel and a discrete GPU. The lineup is a bit confusing, but I believe the GT640 is much improved over the 540.
Edit: anybody know what the release date for Trinity on the latop is supposed to be??
You do realise the market is already full of those crap powered by Intel? What chance you think AMD is gonna have?
Which is meaningless if you can only get the AMD setup in cheap craptops. Hopefuly we'll get some Trinity laptops with decent screens and build quality.
after Piledriver, there will be substantial changes in both cores and system architecture from Steamroller onwards, that should help make AMD competitive closer to the top
On average how long does it take to develop a new CPU? 4 years?
